The Center for Working Families, Inc. chose to target its
work in the neighborhoods of Neighborhood Planning Unit-V (NPU-V)
because research showed that many of Atlanta’s most vulnerable
children were concentrated in those six neighborhoods. By providing
the parents, caregivers, and neighbors of those children with the
services and supports they need to both begin a successful career
and build savings a wealth, we are seeking to improve the conditions
for those children and for the community at large.
Our aspirations are ambitious. To be successful in
achieving them, we will be drawing on the support of countless partners.
Those partners include:
- NPU-V residents who share with us their own personal
goals and fears as they chart out a new path towards family economic
success and as they share information about us with their neighbors,
family members and co-workers.
- Service partners who link with us to enable us
to provide residents with the full array of wrap around services
they need to be successful.
- Employer partners who draw upon our services
as they seek highly motivated and trained employees, thereby providing
resident participants with the opportunity to begin a successful
career.
- Community partners who share information about
our services with community residents.
- Investors who are seeking to strengthen community,
to prevent and respond to homelessness, to support workforce development,
to help low-income families build assets and/or to strengthen
the connection between fathers and their children and families.
- Government agencies who are looking for an opportunity
to better serve their clients by co-locating with the Center or
by becoming a part of a comprehensive network of support for their
clients.
- Atlanta area volunteers who would like to offer
their skills and services to improve the lives of children and
families in NPU-V.
We welcome all of these partners to join us as we
seek to build capacity among residents and community based organizations
that will lead to economic self-sufficiency in the lives of individuals,
families and communities in Atlanta’s Neighborhood Planning
Unit-V. To become involved, contact
