Community Investment Cycle

To give NPU-V residents the tools and support they need to achieve the community they envision the Community Building Program (CBP) includes the Community Investment Cycle (CIC). CIC is a small social entrepreneurs program designed to build leadership capacity among the residents of NPU-V. It seeks to identify, seed, and nurture social, business, and faith networks that have the capacity to further strengthen individuals (particularly children and families) and organizations that are part of the civic and community fabric of the NPU-V communities

In 2007, eight co-investors will be recruited from NPU-V. These residents will be trained to support other residents in shaping and implementing small projects. In early 2007, CBP and these new co-investors will begin recruiting residents to apply to become CIC project leaders, implementing projects to achieve results around eight result areas:

  • Adults are Healthy
  • Families are Stable
  • Families have an Adequate Standard of Living
  • Children are Prepared to Enter School and are Ready to Learn
  • Youth have Opportunities for Positive Development
  • Neighborhoods are Safe
  • Neighborhoods have Quality Housing, Business, and Recreational Facilities
  • Residents Increase their Civic Participation

Each of the projects will last no more than six months and will impact several members of the communities.

If you are interested in learning more about CIC or, if you are an NPU-V resident and you are interested in participating in CIC, please contact us.
